Sale near Manchester link betwen Chester Ave and Riley Close. Over restricted with complex barriers. Remove horizontal bars.

Urmston Manchester M41 .The end of the cycleway is abrupt throwing cyclists into path of following vehicles and cyclists who stay on road. An extended kerb would protect and/or a soft bollard or wand to warn would help.

Urmston Manchester M41 . Drivers just don't think and drive on the cycleway to park. Bollards required to restrict access.

Urmston Manchester M41 . Drivers just don't think and drive on the cycleway to park. Bollards required to restrict access.

Urmston/stretford M41 A segregated cycle way is compromised because the adjacent pedestrian path is completely blocked by cars parked

Stretford Mancheser M32 a segregated cycle lane is obstructed at the beginning. Also the road markings showing the start of the cycle lane have faded. Bollards required to deter.

Two sets of barriers make this useful route a difficult proposition. A better solution might be found here.

Motoring filter that should be modified to allow easy passage of bicycles.

Short pedestrian area that could use a more appropriate design to allow cycling.

A serious lack of attention from the council has resulted in this useful path becoming hugely overgrown. It is almost at the point of being impassible.

The only purpose this junction has is to allow high speed left turns. It's duplicated by the left turn at the junction a little further east. Crossing this junction as a pedestrian can be difficult, especially given the speed of traffic h ... [more]

This has to be the world's simplest upgrade. Building a cycle route through here, across Braemar Avenue and then over the railway would provide direct, almost entirely traffic-free access to the schools and leisure centre at the end of Bow ... [more]

There is more than enough space here to install dropped kerbs and enable a quick and easy cycling link between these two roads.

There is more than enough space here to install dropped kerbs and enable a quick and easy cycling link between these two roads.

This short alley between two streets could easily be upgraded to provide a viable cycling link. It is slightly on the narrow side but isn't long enough for anyone to get any kind of speed up.

This short footpath is actually reasonably wide once the overgrowth is removed, and might provide a useful link if upgraded.

This footpath by the hospital is quite wide enough to accommodate cycling, but it's currently not allowed by this sign. Cutting back the overgrowth, improving the surface and building a proper entrance at either end would enable this route ... [more]

Broadheath Altrincham nr MCR . Would be a nice direct route with a dropped kerb . Even better with 3 dropped kerbs for each path.

One of the consequences of installing barriers like this is severe degradation of the surface. I'd prefer the barrier to be removed completely, but a simple solution is a couple of bags of gravel.

As on the south side of the railway, barriers here encourage the growth of weeds that eventually make the path too narrow to be shared. The barriers should be removed, the overgrowth eliminated, and the path restored to the full width of t ... [more]

A good surface on this railway bridge. This route is very popular with pedestrians and cyclists, despite the barriers on either side.

A barrier encourages the growth of weeds on this approach to a walking/cycling bridge over the railway. These should be removed and replaced with a simple, single bollard.

Extremely poor surface on this road, with very deep potholes and poor lighting.

Redesigning this junction to prioritise walking and cycling would help create a quiet alternative to the A56 Manchester Road.

Potential for a continuous route here, enabling cycling on quiet roads between Carrington and Woodsend. Two footways required, with a central cycleway. There is enough space for this.

Potential for a good route from Carrington to Woodsend, this section would benefit from extended footways either side (there is space for this) and a central cycleway straight through.

Potential for a good route here between Carrington and Woodsend, quiet streets.

Potential route through here, needs obstructions removing and surface treating. Potential for slight widening by taking some of the allotment land.

A useful link south currently made illegal by the signage. Potential for slight widening by removing a metre of the allotment land, although there's enough room anyway.

Potentially useful link (moreso for pedestrians I think) westwards.

A potential route to Pennybridge Lane? Needs vegetation cutting back, barriers removing.

A potential short link to Balmoral Road? This route is streetlit.

Ridiculous obstructions that should be removed. The bollards should be replaced with something spaced further apart, so larger bicycles and tricycles can pass.

Very minor work required here to improve access from the street, to Pennylane Bridge.

Decent wide surface here, but it narrows as it heads to Higher Road. Could do with being widened to full extent of highway.

A poor quality exit from the bridge onto Railway Road. Should be a raised crossing with ped/cyclist priority. The current layout encourages collisions between pedestrians and cyclists.

Potential route across the railway bridge, between Higher and Railway Roads.

Very good potential route between Winchester and Canterbury Roads.

Potential cycle route to Lostock Road.

Potential exit onto Lostock Road, for a cycle route.

Part of the Lostock Road 1930s cycleway, in a very sorry state and blocked by illegally-parked vehicles.

A potential route to the Trafford Centre, needs a slightly wider track.

A potential cycling route across Davyhulme Park to the Trafford Centre.

A good path that needs clearing of debris and cutting back of overgrowth (which blocks the streetlights)

School run traffic on this otherwise quiet residential street, which would form part of an excellent route from Carrington to Woodsend.

OldTrafford Manchester a desire line has developed here . There is a space for a short cycle path to by-pass the complex traffic lights. Dropped kerbs would help as well as a hard surface to avoid mud forming.
