UPDATE 10/11/21 reported to GMUTC (TfGM) as the ridge is to do with the Stretford - a cycle lane transforms onto a shared footway and then a Toucan crossing. Just to the right of the white dashed line is a black ridged line. It's very difficult to see that the black line is ridged and slippery. Joining the shared path requires riding across the line at a critical angle. This angle risks the front wheel being caught by the ridge and unbalancing the rider causing a fall. The rider has to consider other users of the shared path and may also be applying brakes to slow down all of which add to the risk of falling. It is not known why there should be a ridge of tarmac in a cycle lane at an alighting/access point.
